IMPORTANT INFO: The original manuscripts for the "Digital Mentalism" series were published last year and since that time, respectable members of the community have published their thoughts on the material! A Google search for The Mentalist Blogger review and interview will be a good source to see if this material is a right fit for you!
"I am proud and grateful to be alive and a part of the Mentalism community during an era in which most of us are shifting away from the quantity of information-gathering methods, and instead putting our focus on the quality of how information is shared with an audience. This book is a labor of love for the performers striving to share a poetic worldview with their audience."
-Christopher Parrish
After receiving much praise for his creative approach to app-based Mentalism in his first volume of "Digital Mentalism," Christopher has been hard at work refining and preparing the information he wishes to discuss in this second volume. More than a book detailing some original thinking on using apps, "Digital Mentalism Volume Two" details Christopher's approach to the elusive concept of Pre-Show work! More than just being a book on clever Pre-Show techniques, Christopher's main goal for this book was to shed some light on how to develop worthwhile routines for a modern-day audience; routines that are more than just asking people to think of information, and having the mentalist divine it in a manner that is boring and uninspiring.
Hinted about in his other offerings to the Mentalism community, "Digital Mentalism Volume Two" expands further on a performance philosophy that makes use of tools and techniques that allow Christopher to perform what he calls "Segue Routines," providing for mentalists space to focus all of their creative effort in writing emotionally relevant and engaging performance pieces!
Parrish on Pre-Show: Minimalistic Pre-Show for the 21st Century! This chapter details how the Cipher Pro app offers mentalists a new way to conduct a style of Pre-Show that Christopher calls Covert Pre-Show. Armed with this knowledge, you can leave the impression devices at home and do Pre-Show work in a manner that engages your secretly chosen participants!
Memories, Dreams, Reflections: In typical Parrish style, this chapter details an app-free alternative to the Pre-Show shared in the previous chapter.
Remembrance: This is the first routine shared in the book, which is focused on the mentalist being able to accurately divine intimate details about a memory the participant holds dear to them! This routine can be done in two ways, one that is linguistically bold, and another that makes use of traditional methodology. For both versions of this routine, Christopher shares a wide range of linguistic techniques- techniques refined to craft the illusion of the mentalist knowing more than they actually do!
If Seinfeld Could Guess PIN Codes: Besides being one of Christopher's contributions to the PIN Divination, ISCGPC is a case study of how a genuine understanding of character and being inspired by art forms outside of Mentalism can potentially lead to mentalists creating their own unique effects and routines!
The Lazy Psychic: Imagine being able to use a genuine psychic tradition and process to facilitate an intuitive reading for a participant, and still being able to divine emotionally relevant information. "Real" psychics wish they were this accurate!
13115: Originally not planned for re-publication, 13115 is Christopher's full ten to fifteen-minute parlor routine! This is one of the many "bonus" chapters shared in this work. A Christopher Parrish book on Pre-Show work wouldn't feel complete without this routine!
A 90-page e-book with all the above PLUS discussions on the creative process, crafting demonstrations, introducing premise, and how to divine information!
All this knowledge is now yours to be had!
